Humbug Day
This day is held annually on December 21. It was founded by Thomas and Ruth Roy of Wellcat Holidays. I am not sure when they started this day though. But they do say you can only say the phrase “Humbug!” or “Bah! Humbug!” 12 times on this day. Use them carefully!
“Bah! Humbug!” became famous in Charles Dickens A Christmas Carol, where a greedy older man, Ebenezer Scrooge, would say this to those wishing him a Merry Christmas. But he soon later changed!
When I was in school, we had a teacher Mr. Spray, he would always say “Bah! Humbug!” around the Christmas time. I never knew why he would say that.
